On February 20th, 2020 at approximately 11:45 PM the Toledo Police Department received calls regarding possible shots being fired near the area of Main Street and Business Highway 20. Officers responded to the area and found that all involved parties fled the location prior to law enforcement arrival. Firearm casings were recovered from the scene near where the shooting took place. The incidentwas caught on city surveillance cameras where it was learned an unknown male fire three shots in an unknown direction after being involved in a brief confrontation.
Through investigation all involved parties were identified and it was determined no one was injured during the shooting. The suspected shooter was identified as Andre Wright. Mr. Wright was eventually located in Toledo, where he was working on a commercial fishing vessel that was ported for repair. A search warrant was executed on Mr. Wright’s property where a handgun was located, the handgun matched the caliber of the casings located near the initial scene of the shooting. Mr. Wright was taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful use of a Weapon, Menacing x 4, Reckless Endangering x 4, and Disorderly Conduct 2 with a bail amount of $100,000.
