Two Displaced After Neotsu Home Fire

Tuesday afternoon, 3/24/26, around 12:24 p.m., North Lincoln Fire & Rescue was called to a home on Johns Loop in Neotsu after someone reported smoke coming from the structure. When the first firefighters arrived, they noticed smoke coming from the vents in the crawl space, prompting them to upgrade the situation to a structure fire. The firefighters spoke with the people outside the house, who mentioned that one person was still inside. The crew acted fast, found the individual, and brought them out of the burning home safely. The team worked hard and was able to control the fire in about half an hour.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but two residents have been displaced due to the fire. It turns out that the cause of the fire was from improperly disposing of smoking materials. This incident serves as a reminder of how important it is to have working smoke alarms in your home and a fire escape plan ready. Smoke alarms can give you those crucial extra minutes to react in an emergency, and having a fire escape route planned out can make all the difference. North Lincoln Fire and Rescue thanked community partners who helped on scene, including Pacific Power, NW Natural, Pacific West Ambulance, and the Lincoln City Police Department, for their support at the scene.

This is such a powerful reminder of how quickly situations can turn dangerous and how important preparedness really is. I remember a fire drill at school that felt routine at the time, but stories like this make you realize how real those moments can become. During that period, managing everything made me consider Help with StraighterLine Class options just to reduce stress. Safety awareness truly needs to be taken seriously every day.
