On 01/07/2022 at approximately 8:35PM a vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 34 before turning south onto John Street in Waldport when State Police Trooper Stewart conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 40-year old Timothy R. Swander of Waldport was detained due to a firearm laying on the floor board of the vehicle after he reportedly denied any weapons in the vehicle and showing signs of impairment. Swander was then asked to consent to Standardized Field Sobriety Test and afterward he was arrested for DUII and the vehicle was released to his mother in lieu of being towed. Swander was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was asked to submit to a breath sample, which showed a breath sample of 0.22 Blood Alcohol Content and was cited and released for DUII. The Firearm was then returned to the owner.
