Schooner Creek Bridge

A temporary pedestrian crossing will be installed the week of July 15 on U.S. 101 at the south end of the Schooner Creek Bridge. This marks the beginning of repairs and upgrades to the bridge located at the southern entrance to Lincoln City. Initial work will occur under the bridge. Night time lane closures are expected to begin in August. Expect minor delays.

The Schooner Creek Bridge and Devil’s Lake Outlet Bridge (D-River) are being protected and improved, along with other coastal bridges. Between now and 2021, the bridges are receiving:

Repairs to damaged concrete.Installation of a zinc coating or zinc blocks to protect the bridges from the harsh coastal climate.Replacement of bridge railings to meet current crash standards.Strengthening of the bridge structures with steel and titanium.

Work on Schooner Creek Bridge is expected to last a year and a half. Work may occur day and night. When work does occur at night, lanes will be closed, with traffic flagged through the work zone. Work on D-River Bridge continues during the day underneath the bridge. Short duration lane closures are allowed from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2020.
