On 05/14/2022 State Police Trooper Stewart stopped the driver of a Black Kia traveling northbound on top of Cape Foul weather/ The driver identified as 41 year old Lavell R. Palmer of Portland was radar checked for speeding doing 80mph in a 55mph. When contacted Palmer showed signs of impairment and was arrested for DUI.
Also on 5/14/2022 the driver of a Ford Escape lost control of their vehicle while navigating a curve on US-101 around also around Cape Foul Weather. The driver, identified as Rachel Ray Lynn Gonzalas of Newport suffered minor injuries and denied medical attention. After an investigation she was arrested for DUII and was taken to the Lincoln County Jail where she provided a breath sample that showed she had a blood alcohol content of .12 and was cited and released for DUII - Alcohol.
