Tuesday afternoon (3/26/19) at about 2:10pm State Police Trooper Eskridge responded to a report of a hit and run crash on hwy 20. Investigation showed the driver of a Chrysler CRU was eastbound on Highway 20 when the driver, later identified as 41-year old Christina Riddle of Toledo, lost control of the car while negotiating a corner between Valley Forge Road and John Nye Road. The driver spun across the center line and struck the rear driver side of a Ford F350 work truck. Riddle stopped briefly, but then fled the scene eastbound on hwy 20 without exchanging information with the other driver.
The driver of the Ford F350 followed the Chrysler but lost sight of it after it turned off onto the Toledo Business 20 loop. Follow up investigation lead to an apartment complex in Toledo. The Chrysler and driver were located at just before 5 PM. Riddle was interviewed and eventually cited and released for Failure to Perform Duties of Driver when Property is Damaged. She was also issued violation citations for Driving While Suspended-Violation, Driving Uninsured, and Careless Driving. Oregon State Police were assisted during the investigation by the Toledo Police Department.
