Olalla Reservoir Temporary Closure

1 min read

Georgia-Pacific will temporarily close Olalla Reservoir to public access beginning Tuesday, Oct. 6, because declining water levels have exposed steep shoreline slopes that may pose safety risks to visitors. The entrance to the company-owned reservoir northeast of Toledo will be secured, and closure signs will be posted.

Georgia-Pacific security contractors will monitor the property during the closure. For everyone’s safety, members of the public are not allowed to enter the site while the

closure is in effect. Unauthorized entry is considered trespassing and may be reported to law

enforcement.

Georgia-Pacific will continue to assess site conditions and will reopen the reservoir to public

access when the company determines it is appropriate to do so. Olalla Reservoir supplies water for operations at Georgia-Pacific’s Toledo mill. The company also permits daytime public recreation at the site when conditions allow. When the reservoir is open, visitors must follow all posted rules, including prohibitions on hunting, littering and gas-powered boat motors.
