Ready Set Go PSA's

Lincoln County Emergency Management and Lincoln County Fire Defense Board are excited to announce the release of our new Wildfire Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in both English and Spanish. These were created through a collaborative effort between emergency management and local fire agencies after the Echo Mountain Complex Fire.

Funding for the PSAs was awarded through two Oregon State Fire Marshall (OSFM) funding sources. The first funding source was the 2021 OSFM Wildland Urban Interface Assistance Grant which was awarded to North Lincoln Fire & Rescue. The second was 2023 OSFM Wildfire Local Outreach program awarded to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office – Emergency Management Division.

The PSAs are in Spanish and English and cover three different topic areas:

1. Lincoln Alerts – Emergency Notification System

2. Wildfire - Be Ready, Be Set, Go Now Evacuation Levels

3. Wildfire - General Preparedness

Lincoln Alerts is Lincoln County’s emergency notification system. It is easy to sign up and offers multiple ways to receive emergency notifications. You can learn more about how to sign-up by watching the PSA in English or Spanish at the links below or by visiting www.co.lincoln.or.us/alerts It’s important to be familiar with Oregon’s 3 level evacuation program before disaster strikes.

Level 1 - Be Ready: Prepare to evacuate. Stay informed about the situation. Have a plan and your go kit ready. Begin moving people with special needs.

Level 2 - Be Set: Be set to evacuate at a moment’s notice. There is high danger in the area. Follow your evacuation plan.

Level 3 - Go Now: Leave Immediately. Imminent danger is in your area. Leave without delay.

Prepare before a disaster by making an evacuation kit and reviewing your emergency plans. You can visit Ready.gov for additional information on making a kit or a plan. General wildfire preparedness is important for the safety of yourself, your family, your home and your pets/livestock. If you haven’t already signed up for Lincoln Alerts, now is the time to do so! It is also important to familiarize yourself with Oregon’s 3 level evacuation program.

Take some time to prepare your go kit. Make sure you include vital items such as a personal ID and documents, medication needs, food and water, and comfort items for children.
