State Police: DUII's And Pedestrian Struck By Car


On 12/6/202 State Police Trooper Katsikis observed a Volkswagon with a violation traveling south bound on hwy 101. He initiated a traffic stop and upon contact with the driver, identified as 37-year old Brandon C. Patterson observed signs and symptoms of impairment. Patterson refused the offered safety field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUII. He was taken to Lincoln County Jail to the Intoxilyzer room where he provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol content of .27, over three times the legal limit. Patterson was subsequently cited and released for DUII.


On 12/7/21 around 5:50pm, the driver of a 2021 Toyota Rav 4 was traveling south bound on SR-229 when for unknown reasons they drove into a ravine becoming stuck in a shallow creek at MP 26.5. After an investigation the driver, identified as Jamie D. Kobow of Siletz was arrested for DUII. She was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where they refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was attained and evidence obtained from the search warrant revealed she had a Blood Alcohol Content of .13. She was cited for DUII and released.


On 12/12/21 at around 5:07PM, the driver of a black Ford F150 was traveling Northbound on US-101 in the right lane when it struck a pedestrian who was lawfully crossing the highway. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital. After an investigation the driver of the Ford F150, identified as 65-year old Douglas R. Olinger of Seal Rock was cited for failure to stop and remained stopped for a pedestrian.
