On 04/13/2023 at approximately at 1:40pm a single-vehicle collision was referred to Oregon State Police from Lincoln County on Highway 101 near Gleneden Beach. A grey sedan, driven by a 74-year old man drove off the road and down an embankment and the car was sideways with the driver trapped in the car. Witnesses on scene helped the driver until North Lincoln Fire and Pacific West Ambulance arrived. The man was transported via ambulance to Samaritan North Lincoln hospital.
On 4/13/23 at approximately 10:44 pm State Police Trooper Wertz stopped a red Ford truck for a traffic violation on US 101 just north of Gleneden Beach. Upon contact, the driver identified as 46-year old Ryan D. Clair exhibited signs of impairment. He consented to Safety Field Sobriety Test's and performed poorly and was taken into custody for DUII. Clair consented to a breath and urine test and he reportedly admitted to recent use of methamphetamine. Two passengers were identified in the vehicle, and one 38-year old Christopher S. Hoffman was found to be in violation of a no contact order. He was taken into custody on a PO detainer for the violation of conditions.
On 4/13/2023 State Police Trooper Kanbara stopped the driver of a red 2001 Honda Civic for a traffic violation on US-101 near Moolock Beach. After an investigation the driver, identified as 41-year old Thomas J. Redditt of Seattle Washington was arrested for DUII-Alcohol. He provided a breath sample and had a Blood Alcohol Content of .20, over twice the legal limit.
On 04/10/23, at 2:45 am State Police Trooper Randall contacted a vehicle in the parking lot of Dollar General in Waldport. The vehicle was parked at the parking lot after business hours. A 28-year old woman was passed out in the driver's seat. After waking her up Trooper Randall observed meth and heroin paraphernalia in open view. These items were seized for destruction.
