Texas Driver Found With Meth And Heroin

On 6/8/20 at approximately 9:32 pm State Police Trooper Wertz stopped a blue Mazda car for a routine traffic stop as it was northbound on Hwy 101 near the Siletz Bay Airport. Upon contact the driver, identified as 57-year old Luciano Reyes of San Antonio Texas, exhibited numerous signs of impairment by a stimulant drug. Trooper Wertz also observed clues within the car which indicated possible illicit drug delivery. Reyes consented to a search of the car and during a pat down the he was found to be in possession of a glass methamphetamine pipe, scales and more than $800 in cash.

A search of the car yielded plastic baggies, used for distribution, and methamphetamine. Reyes reportedly admitted to using methamphetamine within the last two hours but refused to perform the full battery of safety field sobriety test's. He was taken into custody and consented to provide a urine sample to be tested for presence of controlled substances. While being inducted into the jail Reyes was found to be in possession of additional concealed quantities of methamphetamine and heroin. He was lodged in Lincoln County Jail on charges of DUII - Controlled Substances, Reckless Driving, Possession of Controlled Substances and Delivery of Controlled Substances.
