At the August 7th city council meeting the Toledo City Council unanimously appointed Wes Hare as Manager Pro Tem. He will be replacing Craig Martin, who announced his retirement on July 18th. Mr. Hare has served in Albany, Oakridge and La Grande as city manager. Toledo Mayor Rod Cross said the council utilized the services of the League of Oregon Cities to find Mr. Hare. Toledo Mayor Rod Cross said "He came highly recommended by others as well that I know and trust. I have worked with him in the past on the Cascade West Council of Governments (CWCOG)". Cross added that he is very grateful to the League of Oregon Cities for putting the city in touch with Mr. Hare, who is expected to begin working for the City on Monday, August 12, 2019. The City Council also authorized staff to proceed with the recruitment process for the permanent City Manager position utilizing the services of the Prothman Company.
