Toledo Mayor Resigns

Toledo Mayor Rod Cross announced on Wednesday January 28, that he is resigning as Mayor of Toledo. He said in a letter announcing his resignation to the city manager that it has been an honor to serve the Citizens of Toledo and the Staff of the City for over 24 years as a Planning Commissioner, Budget Committee Member, City Councilor, and as Mayor. Cross noted that he is facing some personal issues that he doesn’t want to get in the way of being Mayor.

He added that this is a decision he did not take lightly as the City has many tasks ongoing and ahead to improve the lives and the City’s level of service to the residents however, he said he feels that his presence will distract from that very important work. Council President Tracy Mix is now the interim Mayor until the council can meet next week February 4, to appoint someone from the council to serve the remainder of Crosses' term. The City of Toledo thanked Mayor Cross for his years of service, and wished him well in his future endeavors.
