Hit And Run Suspect Sought By Lincoln City Police

The Lincoln City Police Department is desperately seeking assistance from the public in locating a wanted suspect, 45-year-old Juan Antonio Suarez Jimenez, of Lincoln City, Oregon. A nationwide extradition warrant has been issued for his arrest as the suspect in a hit-and-run crash leading to the death of a local pedestrian. The victim has been identified as 80-year old Joseph Allen Koffend, of Lincoln City. Around 6:30 pm Joseph was crossing in a marked crosswalk when struck and then transported to the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital where he was declared deceased shortly after. The investigation is ongoing. The focus of the investigation is now on bringing Suarez Jimenez into custody. We believe he may be using an alternate vehicle at this time.

Lincoln City police would like to emphasize that the most peaceful way to bring this investigation to a close is for Juan Suarez Jimenez to immediately notify law enforcement and surrender himself peacefully.
