The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce will hold the first-ever Newport Chamber Golf Classic at the Agate Beach Golf Course on Saturday, October 3. The event is sponsored by TLC, a Division of Fibre Federal Credit Union.
This golf event will be a nine-hole tournament, attracting a wide range of community leaders and local participants. The morning will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m., and a four-person Scramble Shotgun Start at 11:00 a.m. All proceeds raised will directly benefit the Newport Chamber’s initiatives to continue providing professional assistance, programs, resources and advocacy to our Chamber businesses and community.
The Chamber will be working within the guidelines of the State of Oregon to create a low-touch, socially distanced outdoor event. They will be observing CDC safety and social distancing guidelines as well as providing masks and hand sanitizers for participants, volunteers, and staff to keep the event safe for all involved.
Various competitions will be held along the course, including longest drive (men and women), closest to the pin, and hole-in-one, with mulligans and team power ball available for purchase.
A late lunch and awards ceremony for winners of the competitions will follow the tournament at 2 pm, along with a raffle table for participants to take home some amazing prizes. The Chamber is offering a “Chamber Member Special” at $75 per person or $225 per foursome. The non-member cost is $100 per person or $350 per foursome. Fees include green fees, golf cart, contests, and post event awards presentation with lunch provided.
