Lincoln City Parks & Recreation (LCP&R) and Chinook Winds Casino Resort (CWCR) are announcing the official ribbon cutting for the construction of the new outdoor stairs with landing access to the beach, located at NW 41st in Lincoln City. The public is encouraged to attend on Thursday, September 26, at 5 p.m. The completed project highlights the ongoing collaborative partnership between LCP&R and CWCR, an arm of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (CTSI).
Additionally, LCP&R will unveil custom 'Adopt-A-Beach Access' signage that recognizes the partnership. The September 26 ribbon cutting will feature City of Lincoln City leadership, Council and Board members, CWCR executives, CTSI leadership, and State of Oregon administrators. Special raffle prizes, food, and beverages will also be available free of charge to the public.
LCP&R approached CWCR with an opportunity to invest in replacing the stairs at the NW 41st beach access. The two organizations connect regularly as part of ongoing community relations, and CWCR expressed interest in co-funding this particular project. LCP&R accepted their offer and is grateful to CWCR for supporting all beach visitors.
Jeanne Sprague, LCP&R Director, comments on the project and partnership, "Our beaches are for everyone, as are the accesses to them. Chinook Winds Casino Resort and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians have assisted us with funding and support for safe, public beach access. We thank them for their ongoing partnership and look forward to welcoming our residents and visitors to the Oregon Coast."
"Our local beaches are an incredible economic driver for the community," said John Wheeler, Interim General Manager of Chinook Winds Casino Resort. "We recognize the importance of safe access to the coastlines and will always seek to invest in the things that make the Oregon Coast beautiful and unique."
