State Police Respond To Several DUII's


On 11/29/2022 the driver of a Toyota Camry was stopped on Highway 229 for failing to drive within its lane. The driver, identified as 22-year old Justin C. Meister of Siletz was believed to be intoxicated and asked to perform Safety field sobriety test's and after he performed poorly was subsequently arrested for DUII. Meister was transported to Lincoln County Jail where he provided a breath sample of .15, nearly twice the legal limit blood alcohol content. He was cited for DUII and given a courtesy ride to his residence. Toledo PD assisted on scene.


On 11/30/2022 at approximately 5:46pm State Police Trooper Stewart was patrolling highway 229 when he came across a vehicle that had been rolled near milepost 19. The driver, identified as 53-year old Craig S. Davidson was taken to the hospital where a blood sample was collected and after testing he was issued a citation of reckless driving and driving under the influence.


On 12/03/2022 at 6:49 AM, Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash near the area of mile post 16 on Highway 18. Investigation showed a grey Toyota, was west bound when it veered across the east bound lane and collided with an embankment. The driver, identified as 31-year old Nokolay D. Naydev of Vancouver Washington was arrested prior to OSP arrival by Grand Ronde police department for DUII.


On 12/05/22, State Police Trooper Katsikis responded to a driving complainant that originated near Ona Beach State Park on Highway 101. The complainant advised a white pickup truck was driving recklessly and nearly causing crashes. The truck was located in South Beach and stopped for observed traffic violations. When Trooper Katsikis contacted the driver, identified as 55-year old Ricky L. Bowen of Gold Beach and found he was exhibiting signs of impairment. Bowen refused safety field sobriety tests he was taken into custody for DUII and was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he also refused to provide a breath sample. Trooper Katsikis applied for and was granted a search warrant for a sample of Bowen’s breath and blood. A breath sample was obtained which indicated a blood alcohol content of .18, over twice the legal limit. Bowen was lodged for DUII and Reckless Driving.
